‘Fall Guys’ Developer Launches Massive Charity Initiative
Everyone wants their brand on a jellybean.
Despite only having come out a couple of weeks ago, Mediatonic and Devolver Digital’s new game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has quickly become a viral sensation. The simple game, where large groups of players control little jellybean guys in a series of Wipeout-style physical challenges, has already surpassed League of Legends as the most-streamed, most-watched game on Twitch. The mad lads at Mediatonic have decided to put this newfound popularity to good use, opening a seemingly simple auction.
Two days ago, Mediatonic announced on the official Fall Guys Twitter that they have received overwhelming support from various brands who want to be featured in the game as a character costume. To make things interesting, Mediatonic has turned brand courting into a bidding war, with the highest bid receiving their very own Fall Guys costume. However, in a major good-guy move, Mediatonic will not be pocketing the winning bid, but will instead send all of it to Special Effect, a charity based out of the UK that’s dedicated to ensuring those with special needs can still enjoy video games like everyone else.

Since the green light shined, the bidding has been incredibly fierce, with bids flying into the Fall Guys Twitter from prolific brands, famous streamers, and even just random wealthy people. Several notable bidders include the famous Fortnite streamer, Ninja, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Walmart, and FPS trainer Aim Lab. At the time of writing, though, the current top bidder is esports club G2 Esports with a whopping $330,003.

The bidding is slated to last for two weeks, which means there’s still plenty of time for a madman to swoop in and bet the farm. Whoever ends up clinching it will not only secure some major publicity for both themselves and Fall Guys, but donated a large sum of money to a very worthy cause.
